April 2019

Oh, to be in Connecticut’s Quiet Corner now that Spring is here.

Dear Families:
We celebrated the Week of the Young Child™ which is an annual celebration hosted by NAEYC to spotlight early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities. Here in Brooklyn we celebrated with music, art, healthy treats, cooperative team work and family ice cream social.

Spring is in the air and April brings us new beginnings. We are happy to have 2 children ready to move to the Pre-toddlers classroom as we welcome 4 new infants near the end of the month. We also welcome new toddlers and a preschooler to our classrooms. We learn and we grow here at Brooklyn Carelot!
Near the end of the month our curriculum focus is on our mother, Mother Earth in all her spectacular glory. The beauty of butterflies, especially when created from baby footprints or coffee filter and watercolors. All classrooms will save any paper or plastic products they use during lunch and snack to help create an art-based recycled goods robot. We’ll be also focus on colors; the colors of the rainbow, color wheels and all the colors around us.
At Brooklyn Carelot:
• Slumber club at our Killingly Center is on April 27th from 5 – 9 pm. Remember…. we do all the work and you have all the fun!
• Our Summer Camp (ages 5 -12) enrollment begins this month. Sign up early for summer camp and receive $100 off enrollment fees.
• Please help out with Provider Appreciation Day in May. Watch for our emails and flyers on how you can help and recognize the great work of your child’s teachers and assistants.
