“Old MacDonald had a farm E, I, E, I, O”

Dear Families:
June 2019 was dedicated to farming! We discussed many aspects of a farm with the children. What is a farm? Who runs a farm? What happens on a farm? What animals live on a farm? What is grown on a farm? Singing Ole McDonald Had A Farm was a big part of the month. The toddlers have been creating artwork, painting with vegetables. Pre School and toddler did some apple stamping. Pre School planted beans and have eagerly watched them grow so tall. The infant room made the cutest farmers from their foot stamp.
We celebrated Dads with a classroom popsicle party. All children made either special Father’s Day gift or cards. Infants made hand printed T-Shirts, toddlers painted wooden rocket ships and “you’re the cheese to my macaroni” cards. We were happy to see so many father’s turn out for this event,
A few things started this month:
• Our summer camp program began. They have been busy creating a camp banner, working on making a pirate, fizzy ice cube pirate treasure and the end the month going to Webster Lake and Rocky Neck Park.
• The No Child Hungry sponsored free food program began. All child in the center receive a free lunch through August 2nd. A breakfast is served to children who are in the center prior to 8 AM. We are fortunate that the town of Brooklyn participates in this program.
• Water play activities have begun. Remember to bring in a bathing suit, towel and water shoes for your child. Don’t forget to pack sunscreen too. We go outside every day, weather permitting.
Watch our activity board located in the entrance vestibule. You’ll find all our upcoming July activity. I’m looking forward to a fabulous summer of fun with your children!
