“The rooster knew what he had to do. He turned around and went back home again. He enjoyed a good meal of gain and sat on his very own perch. After a while, he went to sleep and had a wonderful happy dream—all about a trip around the world”. Eric Carle
Brooklyn Carelot celebrates author/illustrators all month long. Reading is Fun is our theme. We highlight Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle, Laura Numeroff, Margaret Wise Brown, and Beatrix Potter. During the month, all classrooms read stories and created artist-inspired art pieces, including giant caterpillars, symmetrical butterflies, cookies, donuts, muffins, and lots of bunnies!
We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this week with a fun event. The center is visited by a mischievous leprechaun named Lucky. There was lots of excitement generated around how to catch a leprechaun with all classrooms making a trap. Don’t forget to ask your child if they caught him and received gold.
Every classroom celebrates the book If You Give a Pig a Party by Laura Numeroff, with pig-inspired activities. Our toddlers will be playing in individual mud bins, our infants will be playing with pink whip topping, preschoolers will be eating pink pancakes and the kindergarten class will make and wear pig masks while eating bacon.
